Sanjeev Gupta is currently the Group Executive and member of the Board of Directors at one of Africa’s premier DFIs. He has a wealth of experience spanning 30 years in Investment Management, Private Equity and Corporate Advisory Services across emerging markets, especially Africa.

In Africa, focus on import substitution, technology transfer and value add, with its impact on job creation and community improvement, has been the hallmark of Sanjeev’s business activities.

He is an insightful leader capable of managing diversity, unfolding cultural and political legacies and bringing deep collaboration into objective decision-making.

Sanjeev currently also serves as a Non-Executive Director and Advisor to Common Purpose International and to Invest Africa. He chairs the student programme of Common Purpose, mentors young professionals on doing business in emerging markets and is a frequent public speaker and blogger on leadership, family business and Africa.

Sanjeev has presented at the University of Amsterdam Business School and the UCLA Anderson School of Management on similar matters.

As Advisor and Investment Committee Member, Sanjeev brings local insight, market intelligence and synergies, through his deep relationships with global funders, development agencies, corporates, entrepreneurs, banks and political leaders.
