Rahil has been a senior banking professional for over 22 years with significantly deep experience in investment banking, Financial and capital markets across emerging markets within the Wholesale Bank at Standard Chartered Bank. His career started in India followed by an assignment in USA and spans across Country and Regional roles heading the Financial Markets in Botswana, Nigeria and Indonesia as well Sub-Saharan Africa and Africa and Middle East Regions.
Rahil has an established operational track record leading the sales, trading, Balance sheet and capital markets’ businesses most recently in 23 countries across Africa and the Middle East, along with driving strategy and key decision making, as part of the Bank’s Regional Management Team as well as the Global Financial Markets Management Team.
Bringing an unusually strong expertise in leading and managing cross-cultural teams spread in diverse geographies and profit centres within the matrix reporting structure of a large global financial institution, supplemented with his ability to close complex deals, makes him ideally suited for leading investment advisory across Africa.
As the Founding Partner of Africa Pledge, Rahil brings established and excellent relationships with key strategic clients ranging from family run businesses, large multinationals and local corporates, state owned enterprises and sovereigns in the African region.
